Superman VS Batman
HOLLYWOOD – The first image from Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice has been released, showing a moody, rain-soaked Superman. Earlier in the week, a behind-the-scenes image showed Henry Cavill as Clark Kent, but this gives us a much better look at the direction of Zack Snyder’s sequel. The image, debuted by USA Today, suggests a much darker tone than Man of Steel at first glance, But what’s that city in the background? A significant part of Metropolis was destroyed in the finale of Man of Steel, and it doesn’t resemble the modern, clean city that was established in that film. With smoke stacks, blackened skies and a more irregular skyline, surely it’s also our first glimpse of Snyder’s Gotham. Snyder also spoke about Cavill growing into the role. “We’ve both created this guy and we can push I’m around a little bit,” says Snyder. “The more time I spend with Henry, the more he’s Superman to me.” He also speaks briefly about the decision to include Batman in the Superman sequel. “I was in no rush to put Batman in the movie, but on the other hand it seemed organic the way our story was unfolding to start to feather him in.” Snyder also confirms that Ben Affleck’s take on Batman will be an old, more world-weary take on the Caped Crusader: “it’s cooler to see a crusty old Batman beating the snot out of guys.” And of course, Snyder isn’t shy about talking up the scale of the project. “You can talk all you want about other superhero movies, but it’s Batman and Superman, let’s just be honest,” he says. “I don’t know how you get bigger than that.” Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is due for release in the UK on 29 April 2016 and in the US on 6 May 2016.
